 | With expertise and knowledge in various areas of neuropsychology, clinical psychology, and social work, our staff is not only well-trained, but we are also experienced in sharing our knowledge with others. We make presentations and give workshops to parents, schools, agencies, and organizations of many types throughout the year. Doing so has impact in several ways: - it provides information about cutting-edge issues in our field (e.g., executive functions and autism)
- it broadens peoples understanding of their own or their childs learning styles
- it enlightens the audience on how to work with or teach others who have learning or attentional struggles, or social/emotional issues
- it provides the audience with tools and ideas for how to address problems with efficiency and organizational skills
- it informs everyone on the latest information about mental health issues, including learning disabilities and attentional disorders.
If you are interested in having our staff make a presentation at your school, place of work or organization, please contact Dr. Lauer (in Washtenaw County) or Dr. Beaulieu (in Oakland County) for more information. Also, make sure to check out our list of upcoming events. | After years of knowing I didnt learn like everyone else, coming to you was eye opening. Being diagnosed with a learning disability wasnt an easy thing to hear, but it sure gave me an idea of what I can do now to make things better at work. The outline of helpful books and articles to read, suggestions like slowing down and repeating what people say back to them, and meeting with my employer so she also better understands my LD each one has made a huge difference in how I look at work each day. Thanks so much for removing questions and providing answers.
